Give Way

I came across a give way sign while trying to make my way to work on this busy Monday morning

Was it a warning?

It commanded me to slow down, pace myself,

give way to the drivers and the people around.

If only my thoughts followed the road signs while crossing the streets of my mind

But this stress that’s trotting all over is blind to all these signs

It never gives way to the things that truly matter

The things that need to cross the roads in my head for me to be able to gather this peace of mine

If only my thoughts could obey me the same way I obeyed that give-way sign.
